Would you consider yourself a dynamic and highly organized grant coordinator? We need you! Our company is looking to hire a Grant Coordinator with outstanding organizational and communication skills.

As a Grant Coordinator you would be responsible for identifying and applying for grants to secure funding for our organization. This role involves researching public and private grant opportunities and developing proposals and reports for various projects. Also managing the entire grant lifecycle, from initial research to application submission and subsequent reporting. By handling the complexities of the grant process, the coordinator ensures compliance with all funding requirements. This position requires collaboration with different departments and stakeholders to gather necessary information and align projects with funding opportunities. The Grant Coordinator plays a key part in the financial sustainability and growth of the organization.

HOW YOU CAN HELP US MOVE (Essential Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Research and identify public and private grant opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and goals.

  • Draft, review, and submit complete grant proposals, including all required documentation and attachments.

  • Collaborate with finance and program departments to develop accurate budgets andfinancial narratives for each application.

  • Monitor and coordinate the administration of awarded grants to ensure compliance withall funder requirements and regulations.

  • Serve as a liaison between internal departments to gather data and informationnecessary for grant proposals and reports.

  • Maintain a comprehensive calendar and database to track application deadlines,reporting schedules, and award statuses.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with funding agency contacts to stay informed aboutpriorities and opportunities.

  • Prepare and submit all required programmatic and financial reports to funders for active grants.


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree, with majors in fields such as nonprofit management, communications,public administration, or business administration providing a strong foundation.

  • Coursework in areas like technical writing, financial management, and public policy equips candidates with the essential skills for researching funding opportunities, developing budgets, and crafting compelling grant proposals.

  • Experience: A minimum of two to three years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a related administrative capacity.

  • Prior experience involving research, data analysis, budget preparation, and project coordination is highly beneficial and prepares candidates for the detailed nature of managing the grant lifecycle from application to reporting.

  • Certifications & Licenses: While specific licenses are not required for the Grant Coordinator roles, notable certifications that we are looking for in the field include the Grant Professional Certified (GPC) and the Certified Grant Writer (CGW), both of which recognize a professional’s proficiency and commitment to ethical standards in grant development and management.

  • Funder Prospecting: A core competency is identifying and evaluating potential funding sources by analyzing their missions, giving histories, and priorities. This ensures a strategic alignment between the organization’s projects and the funder’s objectives, maximizing the likelihood of securing financial support.

  • Proposal Narrative Development: This skill involves crafting clear, persuasive, and compelling narratives that effectively communicate the organization’s story, project goals, and expected impact. The coordinator tailors each proposal to meet the specific guidelines and interests of the individual funder.

  • Budget Formulation: The coordinator collaborates with program and finance teams to construct detailed, accurate, and justifiable project budgets. This process ensures that financial requests align perfectly with the proposed activities and adhere to the funder’s financial guidelines.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Effectively engaging with internal teams, including program staff, finance, and leadership, is crucial. This ensures the accurate information and data necessary for a comprehensive and unified grant proposal are gathered efficiently.

  • Compliance Reporting: This involves meticulously tracking grant-funded activities, outcomes and financial expenditures. The coordinator then prepares and submits timely, accurate reports that demonstrate accountability and strict adherence to all funder requirements.

  • Grant Lifecycle Tracking: Utilizing specialized databases and calendars, the coordinator systematically manages the entire grant process. This includes overseeing pre-award research, application deadlines, post-award reporting schedules, and key renewal dates to ensure nothing is missed.

  • Management: Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Coordination: Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders
